Dr. Heitman has been the owner of Ottawa Animal Hospital
since 1989. He graduated from
Michigan State School

Veterinary Medicine.
He is married with 2 beautiful daughters. His dogs; Barney and Little Joe are his canine companions and he now has 2 horses...1 miniature and 1 standard size.
Dr. Bergstrom has worked at OAH for over 7 years. She graduated from Michigan State in 1989.
She is married with3 beautiful daughters . She has a golden retriever named "Clifford" a Yorkshire terrier named "Molly" and one feline friend.
I was born and raised in Wyoming, MI. I performed my undergraduate studies in Animal Services, as well as my veterinary training at MSU and graduated in 2002. Immediately after graduation I moved to New Jersey to perform additional training at Garden State Veterinary Specialists. After I completed my internship program I moved back to MI and started working at OAH. I have 2 cats, (Jasper and Drake), a Golden Retriever named Arkin, a Papillion, (Haven) and a dwarf rabbit named Buster. I also have a saltwater coral reef and fish tanks.
Donna joined OAH in 1995. She is a graduate of Davenport University with a Bachelor degree in Business Management and is also a certified veterinary practice manager, (CVPM). She is a married mother of 5 children- her oldest, John, also works at Ottawa Animal Hospital. She shares her home with a Great Danes and 3 miniature dachshunds and 2 cats!

John is a veterinary technician at OAH & joined our team as a kennel assistant in 2001. He is
studying to become an L.V.T. He shares his home with his 2 cats, Rodman & Wallace & his new mini dachshund puppy named Izzo. In my free time I enjoy any type of sport. Being from Chicago I am a huge fan of the Bears, Bulls and yes Michigan fans - the Ohio State Buckeyes! I also work part time at Canine Antics.

Michelle is one of the smiling faces you see when you enter OAH. She is married with 2 children. Michelle shares her home with a German Shepard named Rodman, a miniature dachshund named Bajaand 2 cats. She is a Hope College graduate with a Bachelors degree in business

Licensed Veterinary Technician
I have been working at OAH since February 2005. I am a Baker College graduate and received my Associate Degree in Applied Science. This allowed me to take my board exams and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have been married to my husband, Josh, since April, 2005. Our children all have 4 legs. A pitbull named Dega, a Welsh Corgi - Pearl, a lab mix - Jax, a Chihuahua named Chiquita and 3 cats, Stinky, Stuey and Doofy. I am the resident kitten raiser of OAH. If you hear singing coming from the back, it is usually me. In my free time I enjoy roller blading, walking my dogs and of course, shopping!
Julie grew up in NE Michigan and has been with Ottawa Animal Hospital for 3 years. She started as a veterinary technician and now greets you at the front desk. She has 5 cats (yes 5!), 2 dogs, 1 parrot and breeds hamsters & gerbils. She is married as well and all of her kids have 4 legs!
Sally has been a valued member of OAH since 1988. She has 2 dogs, and 4 cats. She is married to a wonderful man, Keith. Sally is our resident wild life rehabilitator who has a passion for raccoons.

Robin was born & raised in Holland. She is a graduate of GVSU with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. She is married and shares her home with 2 dogs, 3 cats and 1 horse (well the horse isn't really in the home!)
Kim has been in the animal field for
22 years! She is originally from the
Chicagoland area. She is married and has 3 children. She shares her home with 3 dogs,
2 cats and 2 birds.
I am the new employee here at OAH and I love it! I was born in Iowa but raised in Michigan. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University. I am married to a great guy, have 3 cool kids and we all love animals. We have a pug, a bunny, a cat and one lone hermit crab. I worked in a veterinary office many years ago but left to become a stay at home mom for 12 years. I have recently returned to work and couldn't have asked for a better job!

I have been at OAH since October, 2006. I have been married to my husband, Marc, for 5 years. We currently have only 4-legged children. Brock is our 6 year old German Shepherd (mama's boy) and Maize our new Golden Retriever puppy, (soon to be mama's boy). I am currently taking classes working toward becoming an LVT. I also work part time at Canine Antics, our dog daycare facility.

I am originally from Salt Lake City but moved to Holland when I was 11 years old. I am married and have 2, two-legged children and 3 four-legged children. They include my 2 daughters (Taylor and Sage), two cats (Floyd and Aris), and one dog (Porter). I keep busy with family, work and also as a full time student working toward my Associate in Applied Science. After I graduate I will be able to take my exam to become an LVT. I have worked at OAH since April of 2007.
